O-POP Happy Hour
Join us for another O-POP Happy Hour. Following our discussion on third places last month, we will have a short activity on Placemaking with lots of discussion on how some temporarily unloved places in Olympia (e.g. parking lots, overlarge intersections, gated off locations with natural water bubbling from the ground) could be made more people oriented. For some examples to get the wheels turning check out Better Block (projects as close as Quincy!).
O-POP Happy Hour
Join us to learn about third places, connect with neighbors, and talk about how we can work together to transform our community.
We're doing these monthly happy hours to make space for people to meet neighbors, talk about what we want our city to look like, and share ideas.
Stroll Oly
Inspired by the Seattle Super Saunter, this self-paced event invites you to experience your city in a different way. Folks are free to join for all or only part of this free community saunter.
Walk, bike, roll, or travel the route in any way you want!
Start at the 4th Ave food trucks
End at West Central Park
Self-paced and there are opportunities to catch a bus along the way, with the 9X running along the whole route.
Go anytime, or with OPOP this Saturday.
O-POP Happy Hour
Join us for an O-POP Happy Hour. Re-connect, or connect for the first time, with neighbors and friends dreaming of more delightful people-oriented places in Olympia. We are reinvigorating O-POP’s vision of a compact and diverse Olympia, and need your help in imagining where we go next. Come for the socializing, stay for some brainstorming (post its and pens will be provided, funniest ideas discussed first).
If you can’t make this happy hour, we are planning on making these monthly and will see you at the next one…or one after that…or…
Olympia Walk Audit
Join us for a Walk Audit of 4th Avenue during Week Without Driving (September 29 - October 5), a national event to increase understanding about the barriers and challenges that non-drivers face and work with non-drivers to create more accessible communities for all.
Meet at the Heritage Park Fountain. We’ll travel east on 4th Avenue, documenting the safety, comfort, and accessibility of one of Olympia’s main corridors. Our walk will end at City Hall.
